I've lived in this area for 23 of the past 30 years. Dave's was a known institution well before I got here. Oddly enough, though, I'd probably only visited it three times before last week. I don't remember it tickling my fancy. After having a burger earlier in the week somewhere else, I decided to give Dave's another go. It was absolutely delicious. Got a Double Bacon Cheese with lettuce, tomato, and raw onion. They offer grilled onions as well, but I prefer a crunchy raw. Burger was cooked to perfection, and all the ingredients combined perfectly. I also got a malt milkshake and could believe how good that was as well. Good enough to visit just for a shake. Either way, I'm happy that I went back, and my only disappointment is not going more often over the years. Can't wait to return again!

Best burgers I've had in California. I look forward to visiting family in Fairfield because I know it will mean a stop at Dave's. Perfectly cooked juicy burgers, crisp fresh lettuce, juicy tomatoes and grilled onions, plus a side of tater tots and a peach shake; nothing better.

So I had the civic duty of jury duty last week and was craving a burger along the lines of my hometown go to (Bud's) this piqued my interest in review and the fact that they had milkshakes sealed the deal. I pulled in to the parking lot settled up against armijo highs fence. I walk in and the dude behind the counter greeted and took my order! Cheeseburger.... "Raw or grilled onions?" Uhhhh both? Done Strawberry milkshake! Boom done. Wait was about 10 minutes which was solid af at 12:20 on a weekday afternoon. Nitty gritty. Burger -3.75/5 the Mayo was a touch sweet for me but I absolutely crushed it! Shake - 4/5 the only thing that would have made this a 5 is solid strawberries in the shake. Overall, I absolutely will go again and love that a place like this is still around!
